Senior Environmental Scientist (Environmental Consulting Professional - Environmental Geologist, Scientist, Biologist, Chemist, or Environmental Engineer)

Job Location: This professional may work out of either the Long Beach, CA or San Francisco, CA office.

Compensation: $65,000-$75,000 annual base salary DOE (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), vacation, holidays, etc.

The Johnson Group Staffing Company, Inc. is a technical staffing company specializing in Engineering & Environmental employment opportunities. Our client, a prestigious international environmental consulting firm seeks Senior Environmental Scientist with a minimum of 3+ years experience; to join their environmental team in the handling of START Contract / Superfund Technical Assistance Response Team (Region 9) projects.

This professional will be largely involved in the daily operation of the Superfund Technical Assistance and Response team; working along side a unique team of scientists, geologist, chemists and biologists who work exclusively to support the EPA and manage numerous hazardous materials investigations and Homeland protection oriented projects. Professional is required to work out either the firms Long Beach, CA or San Francisco, CA office location.

Ideal Qualifications:

*Bachelors or Masters degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or closely related field.
* Must have 3+ years of environmental consulting industry experience
* 6 months to 1 year of USEPA START Contract work experience (Superfund Technical Assessment & Response Team) preferred but not required
* Familiarity with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) policies and standards
* OSHA40 Hour HAZWOPER training (preferred)

Additional preferred qualifications:

* Experience preparing of written sampling/work plans, analyzing and presenting data in formal reports
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Knowledge of DOT hazardous materials regulations

Field chemist experience: ability to take chemistry and apply it in the field on hazardous waste sites.
OR
Experience writing documents SAP (Sampling analysis plan) or DQO (Data Quality Objective)
